We always knew that Duchess Meghan wouldn’t be your traditional royal mum, but just a few weeks after welcoming baby Archie, we have a bit more insight into what her parenting style will be.
Speaking to broadcaster and another friend of Meghan’s, Gayle King, Daniel Martin (who also did the Duchess of Sussex’s make up for her wedding day) revealed that she’s going to be more hands-on than we realised – by making her own baby food.
“I’m sure the baby’s gonna be raised like, definitely clean and green,” Daniel told CBS’s Gayle King. “Clean and green for the baby. She loves to cook. Eating organic whenever she can.”
When asked if the new royal mum will make her own baby food, he responded, “Oh, I totally see her making her own baby food.”
“Oh yeah, totally,” he added when Gayle remarked that she was joking.
When it comes to cooking up baby food in the Frogmore kitchens, there’s one kitchen appliance that is bound to come in handy.
Speaking to The Vow, Patrick J Adams who played Meghan’s love interest on Suits said that choosing a wedding gift for the royal couple came down to two items.
“We were trying to choose between like a blender or bread maker…You know something classy, like a good blender.
“Whether I’m there or not, the Vitamix is going to the wedding.”
Indeed the former actress told Today, “If I blend some apple, kale, spinach, lemon, and ginger in my Vitamix in the morning and bring it to work, I always find that sipping on that is a much better boost than a cup of espresso.”
This isn’t the first time Daniel has shared some into Meghan and her cooking prowess.
Back when she was pregnant, the make-up artist flew over to London for a catch-up with his royal friend and shared a flat-lay image of a hearty avocado smash, chocolates and tea.
“Back to our Tig days…❤️ Thank you Meghan for being the consummate hostess this weekend and still being the #avocadotoast whisperer, YUM! 🤷🏻♂️ 🥑🍞☕️ #foodie #foodiegram,” Daniel captioned his snap, alluding to her former lifestyle blog The Tig.
Daniel and Meghan have been close friends since they hit it off in 2011 at the NYC up fronts for Suits.
“We just totally clicked and got along. So seven years later we’re still great friends,” he explained to 20/20 of their friendship in 2018.

The Daily Mail previously reported that since Duchess Meghan is so passionate about food and cooking, a small vegetable plot was added in the garden when they moved into Frogmore Cottage.
“She regularly cooks for Prince Harry and the cottage will be the perfect place for her to prepare meals with some home grown produce from their own garden,” a royal source told the publication.
“It is understood that she wants to be able grow vegetables, herbs and soft fruits.”
Growing your own and eating locally isn’t a recent obsession of Meghan’s either. In fact, she talked about it in interviews well before she became a royal.
“Growing up in southern California… I loved gardening and growing my own vegetables. That farm-to-table ethos was ingrained at such a young age.”
